Loosely translated from the original German

The new Porsche 924 Turbo presents itself technically practically unchanged since model year 1981. Like the 924, the 924 Turbo is available in new colors, two-tone paintwork, and with a removable roof. The most important innovation is that the driver's seat adjustment can now be done manually or electrically, depending on customer request. Also new for the Porsche 924 and 924 Turbo are electrically adjustable exterior mirrors and an improved ventilation system.

Compared to the normal Porsche 924, the turbo version differs mainly by its higher performance: instead of a maximum speed of around 200 km/h (125 mph), it reaches up to about 230 km/h (143 mph). The acceleration from zero to one hundred kilometers per hour (62 mph) takes only about seven seconds instead of nine seconds. The fuel consumption remains almost unchanged despite increased performance: at a constant speed of ninety kilometers per hour (56 mph), it is around eight liters per hundred kilometers (29 mpg), at one hundred twenty kilometers per hour (75 mph) it is around ten liters per hundred kilometers (23 mpg).

The braking system of the Porsche 924 Turbo has been improved compared to its predecessor: internally ventilated disc brakes on all four wheels ensure better deceleration values and greater safety even under high loads.

Another improvement for both versions of the Porsche 924 Turbo since model year '81 are so-called "Koni" shock absorbers on both axles - they reduce body roll and improve suspension comfort as well as handling.

Apart from these functionally necessary detailed changes, the galvanized body of the 924 Turbo corresponds to that of the proven 924: Porsche has consistently avoided highlighting the high-performance characteristics of the 924 Turbo through intrusive, drag-increasing stylistic changes.
