Porsche Club Praha Cars & Coffee - 25/07/2022

Liblice castle, Czech Republic

Saturday, June 25th, Porsche Club Praha, the only officially recognised Porsche Club in the Czech Republic, met at its main annual gathering in the beautiful gardens of Liblice Castle, close to the wine-city of Mělník.

This event was held in cooperation with the local Porsche Center

We left Prague with Biancaneve in the rainy morning, to be at the venue before 10:00. The steering :) committee (Libor, Michael, Honza) and other members (Alex, the Vaněk boys, etc) had been there since the previous evening or very ealry morning and made sure that everything was precisely set-up for the participants' arrival.

Weather improved during the day, so we could enjoy the walk-around the cars the refreshments, especially a tasty barbecue on the terrace of the castle in the early evening, which was be reserved only for club members, whereas friends and guests were invited for the activities of the morning-afternoon.

In fact, this Cars & Coffee is designed as "open", i.e. Porsche owners outside PCP could also register. This gave a chance to PCP to introduce the club (all its lovely members, and their beautiful cars) and to have the opportunity to meet suitable new applicants and establishing useful connections with like-minded friends, for the benefit of our hobby.

Last but not least, a "marketing" event was financed by Porsche Česko and Porsche Centrum Prague and some other partners: a "table-top" competition centered on the knowledge of the brand and his history (we won a prize in this, with some nice goodies from Porsche Design shop)!

We mentioned a "colorful" event; indeed it was; cars were placed in thematic displays in the park with some descriptive text paced in front of them.

The commented promenade of selected cars was hosted by a local TV personality and animated by Michal S., a young car entrepreneur; not only passionate but also extremely knowledgeable and with outstanding speaking skills.

A driving simulator was also a "must" ... we had the chance to have our run on the Red Bull Ring, coached by Dan, who was fresh of the Red Bull Experience on the austrian track with F4 monoplace and could give us some useful tips.

Being a "cars-on-the-lawn" the atmosphere of a "concour d'elegance" was there and a detailing workshop was indeed much appreciated ... especially after the rain shower of the morning.

The guests had their own short "rally" just before the members BBQ.

Notwithstanding the weather, we were not so short of 60 cars with more than 80 participants: a great success, given the circumstances.

In terms of cars present at the event, we would like to highlight:

  • The huge number of GT3 and GT3 RS of various models (996, 997, 991, 992) in unusual colors, some of them PTS (Paint-To-Sample) and with a plethora of special equipment and many track miles in most of the European circuits.
  • A brand-new 992 GT3 Touring just delivered to a club member;
  • A rare 997 GT3 RS 4.0;
  • An intimidating 991 GT2 RS prized possession of one of the "young lions" of the club;

The older car attending was a 356 Cabriolet, followed by a 356 SC, an aubergine 911 Targa and our Biancaneve.

Here below some pics; you can find more of the event and some video too at our instagram account!
