PRESSE-MITTEILUNG Porsche 924

(2.0 ltr. - 125 HP)

Porsche 1978

After its successful premiere in the year of 1975, the Porsche 924 is now going into its 3rd model year.

Important feature of the lowest-priced Porsche model: the water-cooled, front-mounted, 2 liter, 4 cylinder engine (125 HP at 5800 rpm) is connected with the transmission and differential located on the rear axle by way of a central, rigid tube (transaxle system). This guarantees an almost completely balanced distribution of weight.

The perfected and future-orientated design concept of this model range is more up-to-date than ever before, as proven by the sales figures. Porsche engineers were not concerned with major engineering changes.

But many customers will be pleased with an extension of the optional equipment to include a 5-speed manual transmission, so that from now on this model can be ordered with the standard 4-speed manual transmission and against extra charge with a fully automatic or the 5-speed manual transmission. New body colors and new seat upholsteries round off the series of modifications.

Normally the standard equipment will not require any supplementation. Some of the special equipment for particular customers would be the 3-loudspeaker cassette radio with excellent sound quality, the air conditioner and the removable roof section
