The Amilcar C 'Grand Sport was a popular inter war lightweight sports car, developed from the Amilcar C. The CGS had a longer, more rigid chassis, and improved four-wheel brakes in addition to its bigger engine A lowered and higher tuned version, the CGSS, the second S standing for "surbaisse" (lowered), was also made.

The 1,074 cc four-cylinder engine from the CGS was fitted in but in a slightly higher state of tune delivering 35 hp (26 kW). In 1927 a CGSS won the Monte Carlo Rally. This Coupé, with a body from French coachbuilder Charles Duval, is a one-off built for Miss Edita Morris, a Swedish American writer and political activist, who wrote the famous book The flowers of Hiroshima" (New York, 1959).

Recently the car was added to the collection after an eight-year restoration.
