Auto e Moto d'Epoca 2026

More Petrol, Less Money

If you happen to have a pile of cash burning a hole in your pocket and a garage that is tragically not yet full, BolognaFiere is currently the most dangerous place on earth. Auto e Moto d’Epoca 2026 is underway (October 22–25), and as usual, it’s a chaotic mix of spectacular sheet metal and deeply irrational financial decisions.

This year, we're celebrating some landmark anniversaries:

Lancia’s 120th anniversary is a stunning display celebrates the brand's unrivaled rally pedigree and elegant design heritage (albeit with questionable electrics, like many of the contemporary italian production). Mercedes-Benz is reminding everyone they’ve been at this for 140 years ... and still kicking asses! Carrozzeria Touring Superleggera, instead, marks a century of making metal look like superlight art.

But what’s actually worth pushing through the crowds for this year is something else ...

Icons of Speed: The Endurance Exhibition

The beating heart of the 2026 show is a spectacular thematic exhibition dedicated entirely to historic endurance racing. Visitors are treated to an incredible lineup of legends that once dominated Le Mans, Daytona, and the Nürburgring. Standing next to a Sauber C9, Porsche 956, and Lancia LC2 makes you realize how utterly terrifying driving used to be. A must.

The Treasure Hunt

But we're also there for some more mundane reasons ... thirteen halls packed with over 5,000 vehicles and a marketplace full of rusty, often overpriced spare parts.

Not so many interesting cars, as far as we are concerned ... it seems that during this low tide period, the owners are not so much willing to sell, waiting for better times.

Meanwhile, price of the exhibited cars remain strong, with some of them allegedly solved. Not only oldtimers or youngtimers ... plenty of 991 and 992 GT3 RS, with very high requests.

A stunning 1967 VW T1, ex Autogerma, struck our attention ... beautiful but too expensive for our pockets!

Of course, yet another Singer-style restomod had to show up, while Giamaro Automobili, a boutique Italian hypercar manufacturer founded in 2021, brought its latest creations. A white McLaren was indeed one of the most elegant pieces out there.

Among the motorbikes, our favorite was a pristine, blue, two-stroke Kawasaki 750. Pure '70s!
