Loosely translated from the original German
The Porsche 911 embodies an idea. It is the idea of refining a pure sports car over more than 30 years into a fully everyday-usable, comfortable, and safe car. Without giving up even a millimeter of sportiness.
The focus is always on the driver. The 911 should be the perfect expression of personal freedom for its driver. Of individuality, of performance, and - of driving pleasure.
On the following pages, you will find your personal realization of this idea.
The 911 and its driver share a close connection. The driver appreciates the quick response, precise handling, and the feeling that every intention is executed by a unique technical partner. A partner that provides a sense of safety, control, and driving pleasure in every situation and at any speed. You have the option to choose from 7 versions of this concept.
The new 6-cylinder boxer engine offers 3.6 liters of displacement with high torque even at low RPMs. It now delivers 210 kW (285 PS) at 6,100 RPM. The smooth running characteristics are impressive, not least due to the new electronic throttle system.
The heart of the idea is pure 911: the boxer engine in the rear. It has always had a unique design, and since 1963, it has carried the Porsche emblem.
With the 911 Carrera 4, we allow ourselves to intervene in the unity of driver and technology with all-wheel drive. It provides more safety and traction.
Yet, the driving behavior of the 911 Carrera 4 does not differ from the rear-wheel drive of the 911 Carrera. Agility and handling deliver a secure feeling of perfection in every situation and at any speed.
The road is open to you. The sky is vast. You are not concerned with when you arrive, but with how much time you have to be on the road.
And you have the choice between the 911 Carrera Cabriolet or the 911 Carrera 4 Cabriolet.
A push of a button is enough to lower the roof and let the sun in. Effortlessly opened, you drive off - and breathe freely.
For some, a coupe is too enclosed, and a convertible is too open. Some want to catch a breath of fresh air occasionally, making even the commute to work feel like leisure time. For them, the new 911 Targa is perfect. It features an electrically operated glass roof and wind deflector. Simply at the push of a button. When you open the roof, it disappears under the rear window. Even when closed, you feel like you're sitting outdoors. A sunshade, also electrically operated, protects you from the sun's rays.
The glass roof is integrated into the body, preserving the classic 911 silhouette. Driving a Porsche should always offer openness and maximum flexibility – even with new forms of openness.
The result is impressive: It features a lowered suspension, the rear end, and the braking system of the 911 Turbo. It includes side skirts, fender flares, 18-inch wheels, and a driving dynamics control system. Standard equipment also includes air conditioning, an on-board computer, full leather upholstery, fully electric seat adjustment, rear wiper, radio, and sound package. The new 911 Carrera 4S offers not only driving pleasure but also significant technical enhancements.
The new 911 Turbo is a technology showcase. It is proof of the performance capability of the 911 concept. The 911 Turbo was designed and built by motorsport enthusiasts. It embodies the ultimate in performance in all areas. It is an offer to drivers who demand performance – performance they themselves are willing to deliver.
The on-board diagnostics (OBD II) immediately indicate any errors. The 911 Turbo is more refined, more suitable for everyday use, and more sporty than its competitors ever will.
Automatic or manual? So far, you had to decide when buying a car how you want to drive the next 150,000 km. In the city, people prefer automatic. On country roads, manual transmission is more in line with needs. This decision no longer has to be made when buying a car, but while driving. With Tiptronic S.
You have the choice between: automatic lane, the manual lane, and two rocker switches in the steering wheel. You switch with your thumbs without taking your hand off the steering wheel. A tip up to upshift. A tip down to downshift. Similar to Formula 1: The gearbox reacts almost without interruption of traction force. The shift time is reduced by 0.2 s (Tiptronic area about twice as long). Incorrect shifting and over-revving are excluded here as well as in automatic mode. With Tiptronic S, even driving a 911 becomes more comfortable.
